However, behind the glamorous city, the dissident organization Kuchinawa strives to overthrow the administration, while the Nue of the Tokugawa regime, who was entrusted with its extermination, are in conflict. Monica, whose family was killed when she was young, continues to search for Elijah, the executioner of the Nue. Her right-hand man and closest ally is Elijah ("5000") an expert marksman who can accurately shoot a target in 0.3 seconds. Although Monica and Elijah frequently work as a two-man team, they are often joined by Richard Taplin XIII, a master swordsman whose sword can cut anything. Monica and her gang are constantly chased by Inspector Koichi Zenigata of Interpol, who has made it his life's work to arrest them, pursuing Monica across the globe!
